US Online Gambling Set to Take Off in 2012

The clarification on gambling regulations has sent share prices soaring, while the industry is making plans.

The US Department of Justice announcement that legislation banning online gambling does not apply to casino games or live gambling has sent shockwaves through the industry.

Share prices of online sites in foreign markets and US land casinos have soared. William Hill's share price climbed 3.2% in the wake of the announcement, while 888 jumped up 9%.

The clarification means states can now legalise online gambling. California is to begin with an online lottery, adding Internet poker in the future. Delaware is focusing on casino games, while Massachusetts has set up a committee to consider all its options.

Nevada already has a gambling infrastructure, and its casinos will seek to capitalize on their established brands.

The change is set to benefit the entire industry, from big lottery companies and land casinos to smaller sites, software designers and content creators.

Regardless of change however, LiveGamble.com and LiveGambling.co.uk will continue to offer great online live betting, live casino and gaming resources.
